Default rear end rattle

I have 2019 ES350; been experiencing rattle in rear mostly when going over 35 mph; does not seem related to accelerating or decelerating nor when hit bumps. Also have feeling that cross wind causes it too. My first feeling is exhaust is loose... any ideas?

Check the exhaust, rear covers (plastics underneath).

This gen ES has more rattles than my 6th gen did. The 'ol Kentucky bug they call it!

I had a creaking type noise in the rear. Ended up being the rear passenger side door rubber stripping (between the door and frame). I cleaned it, then lubed it up with some silicone spray and it went away.

Since new, sometimes I hear a rear metal clunk (like a spare tire tool hitting the trunk frame) when going/turning on uneven road/bumps. I have been to the dealer 3 times for service intervals and always forgot to mention that. I made sure to insulate all spare tire tools and check for lose items in the trunk but still happens from time to time. Haven't been able to replicate at will. Any suggestions?

Do you have anything in the left box inside the trunk?

I bought a new 2023 ES 300h that is built in Japan (Aus market) and I hear all kinds of rattles, from several different areas of the dash and centre console, and the most annoying one only occurs when the roof sunshade is open, a kind of squeaky rattle from what sounds like the rear or roof. I'm not sure if it is a good idea going to the dealer and saying I hear 5 different rattles, can you take apart the dash and roof... It's a brand new car, if the guys in Japan couldn't put it together without rattles I'm not sure what the blokes at the Lexus service department can do!

I should clarify, it does not rattle on smooth road, only rougher roads, which is most of the roads in Australia which use really coarse asphalt.

I hear only one rattle/buzzing sound when the asphalt is really rough, no idea where it comes from but most likely from the center console (middle of the interior).

Nothing there. I even recently Dynamat/Dynaliner the trunk, trunk lid and spare tools. From my driver seat the sound feels like it's coming from the rear passenger wheel well; or that side of the trunk. I have on my agenda to sound deadening the wheel wells and doors. I know eventually I'll find the culprit...

Brand new, I had the driver seat knee panel rattle that I fixed thanks to some threads on this forum. Other than that, and the still to fix center console arm rest squeal/rattle, my car is very quiet.

Hmmm... Could it be a rattling pressure vent?

For a 2019 ES 350, see item 23 in the parts illustration for location of the Pressure Vent - Lexus (62940-06120). (Item number can be different for a different model type.)

Doesn't sound like plastic, more like metal contact. But will check anyways. Thanks!

Hummm... Can really appreciate even with headphones, but it could be. Followed the thread and will check rear door seams next time. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, dud adding the Dynamite/Dynaliner make any noticeable reduction in noise to you? Front and/or back seat?

It's not your exhaust or it would happen when you go over bumps. I found when you hear these things it can be deceiving on where it comes from. Ex. I thought I had a rattle in my passenger door. turn out to be something I put in the glove box. I had same thing with my Avalon and it was the buckle of the seat belt hitting the plastic trim. Put somebody in your back seat and see if they can hear where it's coming from.
