New owner here, clueless about this icon that started appearing with cooler temps. Is it just a warning to be careful about icy roads? Or something more specific?

To add to other posts, see page 75 (hybrid model) or page 67 (non-hybrid models) of the 2024 Owner's Manual where the icon is listed with the following label and footnotes:
Low outside temperature indicator*3, 6
...
*3: This light illuminates on the multi-information display.
...
*6: When the outside temperature is approximately 37°F (3°C) or lower, this indicator will flash for approximately 10 seconds, then stay on.
Really - it's just a reminder that the roads might be slick due to low temperature. I can only assume it comes on at 37 F because the roads might be cold enough (32 F) at that point to freeze. So it's sort of a extra-safe warning even though air temps may not have reached 32 F yet.
I used to think it was silly but in practice, it does remind me to slow down on bridges or onramps because those can freeze before normal roads.

Thanks. It would be cool if the car did more in terms of performance when it detected low temperatures. Maybe a higher threshold for turning on ABS, or blasting the heat when it first turns on.
