Default 2019 Centre Arm Rest Removal

Hi All. Recently I felt taped the contact points on the clips that hold the leather top piece on the center arm rest. That seemed to get rid of the majority of the creaks in the area.

Does any one here know how to remove the entire top lid so to install an arm rest like this: Microfiber Leather Car Armrest Pad for Lexus New ES 250/350/350H Armrest Protector Armrest Storage Box Cover Pad| | - AliExpress to further isolate?

Thanks.

Do you have any photos of where and how you felt taped the clips? Would be nice to get rid of the squeaks in my car as well.

There essentially was a thread/post by @E46CT where you had to remove the 6/8 screws under the base and wedge a pry tool and slightly twist it and the upper upholstery piece will come off. Basically just wrap all the clips and contact points will felt tape with 1/1.5 turns. There will be about 8/10 of these clips from what I remember. Don't worry about clips being too thick and not sitting in place properly, once you pop everything back in and put the screws on, it sits rather well.

I also put about 4/5 layers on felt tape on areas where the rubber feet from the lid sit on the base, and a tiny piece of felt on the inside of the hole of where the locking pin of the lid goes on.

I will try to link the thread if i find it and take the pictures. This, plus felt taping the kneepads eliminates about 90% of all the creaks.
