Powered add-on sub with ML?
Has anyone here added a sub to the ML system? I want deeper bass. Like 10” minimum I think. I have ‘22 ES300h.
Looking for experiences and recommendations…
What wires should I tap? The woofer on the parcel shelf?

If you read some of my early posts, you'll see I was the pioneer in this area and the first to do it. Re-read my posts but IIRC the wiring is the same for ML and non-ML in terms of what to tap. Definitely do not tap on the parcel shelf. You're going to need to access the amp directly under the seat.
I added the Rockford P300 10" powered sub about a month ago. I dont have the ML system. LOVE the sub! Highly recommend it, too. It's not going to get you in trouble and it's more than enough for me.
. Also be sure to disconnect the ANC system (Active noise control) TRUST ME - you'll need it.

This in addition to E46's thread will help A LOT

I think the P300 is what I use too. I'm debating switching to the 12" version. At least its plug and play and the hard part is done.
and yes you'll need to disable ANC. i was the first to discover you can disable it through carista. everyone (at the time) was saying you have to snip this wire or that wire or have your dealer do it etc.

Thats what Sonnie did in the thread I pasted. Post #4 in his write up
Free and super easy to do. Took me about 10 min from start to finish.
From what I remember from purchasing the official Toyota wiring diagrams, that middle harness has other responsibilities other than ANC.
My car is a 2021 and Carista worked to disable ANC. $9.99 for a one month subscription that allows you to customize other parameters is well worth it.

Im not sure about that middle harness part, because Sonnie and myself havent had any issues with it. Everything else is working fine.
From what it looks like from digging into the diagram, that harness you pulled does in fact include components to the ANC but also looks like a voltage signal detection wire for overheat/fuse circuit protection. Also other wires potentially relating to telematics transceiver protection and some other fuses. Though a lot of it is really technical so not sure. Personally I'd plug that back in and disable ANC the correct way through settings since it's also how the dealer does it. They would not devote an entire wiring harness to just ANC. That harness is shared and appears to integrate a lot of vehicle functions to it.
