ES Tire Rotation Goes Against Common Practice
I use Discount Tire as well for many years now. Most people don't know about the free rotation and flat fix if you didn't buy tires from them. With an appointment which I always do I have never had to wait more than the 45 minutes they tell me. They also always use a torque wrench when putting lug nuts back on which is important in not warping the rotor.
Honestly, folks, it's just a standard FWD car. There's nothing to think about or see here. I just do straight front to back and back to front. There's nothing dynamic about the suspension or wear of the tires on the ES. This is not a "man topic" to discuss and argue over or even think about.
Besides, even if it were true that crossing the tires on one axle during rotation resulted in a little bit more even wear, I wouldn't want the tires at that age/mileage anyway cause they'd be hard and brittle. I encourage any condition that actually lowers tire life so I can get new/fresh tires sooner/faster for safety and comfort. If you want to man-massage this topic, massage in the other direction of more wear cause that'll ensure you're not trying to drive every last month of life out of a hard aging brittle tire. That's not safe.

Of course there's good techs out there, but largely techs aren't making enough to give two poops about your car, even if they're "fAcTorY tRaIneD"
The Goodyear tires that replaced the F Sport's Michelin's are non-directional, so the cross to front is appropriate.
But since E46CT said "This is not a "man topic" to discuss and argue over or even think about," no further discussion is needed.

And I have those Goodyears as well which by the way I absolutely love.

There are numerous reasons to rotate including safety. Google to rotate and not rotate and see results. When my Michelin tires get down to 5/32 I start looking to replace. Michelin and I am sure other brands also will give you credit based on tire mileage warranty if the tire is down to between 3 and 5/32. This credit makes a considerable difference in buying the new tire. If tires were not rotated then 2 would be at 5/32 and others at 7 to 8/32 so no warranty on 2 of them at that time. Also best deals are with buying 4 tires and not 2. Most Discount Tire stores have other stores or gyms around them which makes it super easy to drop car off for free rotation and ready for pickup when out of gym. This is just my take on why to rotate and do your own research if considering not to rotate.
Since the purpose of tire rotation is even tire wear, all I do is measure the tread depth of all 4 tires when I install them seasonally. They are usually not that different from each other after a season, so I just put the 2 tires with the most tread on the front. Then, because the front tires wear down faster, they will eventually become as equally worn as the rear tires. For my non-directional tires, I don't care if they are on the right or left side or where they were last season, just that the most tread is on the end that wears fastest. I don't mark the tire positions when taking them off because I'm going to be measuring them anyways when reinstalling next season.
