Default Removing the center console.

I have a 2022 ES Ultra Luxury - has anyone removed or know the location of the pry points to remove the center console.. i would like to see how to the wiring is going to the usb ports near the cupholder to see if i can add splitters to relocate the ports to the center console as a dual port solution and hide the wires underneath the console not in plain sight. Ive seen the options many have used with the 90 degree cables, i want something a step beyond that.

Yeah if you search i was the first and only to do it. i know how to disassemble it all. the part is proprietary so you cannot add splitters.

my wires have been rerouted to go under the armrest storage area and out the side and tucked away either inside or between my driver's seat when not in use. the front hole where the USB box was has been covered with a piece of the OE carpet (spare from under the shifter)

hard to explain but go view my old posts.

TL;dr, relocate box so wires can come out of somewhere else so cupholder area can close.

I removed the center console 5 days ago and I dropped the USB socket 1 cm below so now I can easily put a much bigger USB cable or a bigger memory stick and be able to close the lid. Then I routed the USB cable under the console into the armrest.

You need to drop the ring that holds the shift lever leather, and then there is a wire that holds the shift ****. Slide the wire out towards the heated steering button and pull the ****. You need to remove both side knee bolsters and also the piece of a plastic under the heated/ventilater buttons. Now you can pull with the center console from the 2stage cupholder.

The USB socket is held in place by a reactangular plastic with two bolts. What I did - I put longer bolts and two 10 mm fasteners.

Careful about removing the shift lever. Stock it's a tad loose, but after removing it, that pin loosens up more and the shifter moves around and it it clicks against the notch it sits in (hard to explain) It moves up and down and cicks. So i devised a fix to make that shifter tight and zero movement or clicking.

Ah so you created a spacer essentially. I think OP wants to hide the wires. So he'll have to go my route which involves lifting the entire console out of the car (it's 5-6 feet long) LOL

That wire is just to thin for the spot where it goes, so I am thinking about making a more thicker wire. I had that clicking even before I removed it.

Yeah i'll bet every one has that click. pay attention to where that wire slots into. there's a square shaped groove. IIRC on the chrome metal shaft. i added some gaffers tape, just a tad (put too much and the shifter won't go back on) and now it's rock solid. zero movement. great fix that takes only seconds.

Thanks so much for your reply... i actually tried the search function several times but couldn't find what i was looking for which is the disassembly points so i dont break any clips etc. I've installed car stereos, replaced carpets, removed consoles many times but its always good to have a guide if one is available before you start prying.

i actually dont have an issue keeping the cupholder open.. i want it open.. i've added a magnetic mount to the underside of the cupholder lid which holds my phone in the area the beverage would be but i can still add a beverage by removing the phone as the mount swivels.. ill add pics later when i have access to another phone to show my phone mounted and the case i use. i want to have my wires on the underside and in the console for my media box which will be semi-permanently mounted in the console.

Very cheap plastic. Everything is plastic.
THIS is the reason WHY I don’t keep my cars anymore than 4 years. Because the plastic interior parts are cheap and fragile and they can break, crack and get loose easily.

So you do not own any vehicles? Just asking.

You're rationalizing. Great if you want something new every few years but don't blame it on plastic interior parts. Cars will last years and years when properly maintained.
