In the fancy MB if you have your hands off steering wheel long enough and keep ignoring the warnings the car will safely navigates itself to a complete stop on the side of a road. A good safely feature if one has a medical emergency.

SuperCruise will disable even if you take your eyes off the road let alone hands on wheel.

Yeah LTA is mostly useless - while I haven't experienced lane departures it is extremely annoying in how frequently it alerts you about being unavailable asking you to hold the wheel because you were holding it too light or haven't moved it - it's a ****ty experience really.

MB does that too if you step up to the new S class and get the 3D Eye-Tracking option. Another way of trying to catch those cheaters using water bottle/orange/etc trying to fake the weight of hands on wheel. I am sure eventually people will find a way around eye tracking too
