Default Adding Android Auto on a 2019

Was there ever a solution to adding Android auto to the 2019 cars? Has anyone successfully done it?

Toyota refuses to add it to late year 2018 built 2019's although in other countries it's available. I'm not interested in some add-on device... GOOD LUCK...

Ah okay. That's too bad. I was hoping something had changed in the last couple of years. Last time I looked into this there was some discussion about whether the hardware capabilities are the same post 2019 with Android Auto, but the fact that it is available in 2019s in other countries suggest that it is merely a software update.

Back a couple of years ago, when this was being discussed frequently, a member posted that it was being added to ES cars in Spain for free and it took about an hour...

Hmmm I guess it is hopeless. Oh well. Just Toyota being Toyota I guess.

Thanks for posting that. I guess another solution is to find an old iPhone and just use the CarPlay for Google Maps navigation instead.

Thanks, Mike. Would have been nice if someone posted a link.

Yup, that's exactly what I did about 2.5 years ago. Absolutely love it. In fact, I just played it for a friend and he was amazed. Everyone whose has heard it has had the same reaction. The combination of a high quality Ultra HD music source and the ML system is awesome!
