Are the triple-beam LED headlights useful?
1. The Lexus website says "Making a statement before you even arrive, available full-LED headlamps feature a three-projector design that creates an eye-catching L shape."
2. But the IIHS gives a higher safety rating to ES models with the Triple-Beam headlights.
3. However, when I search inventory at the several dealers in my region (looking up the specs on the Lexus website using the VIN numbers) only F Sport models have them.

Triple beams are available on non-F-Sports. My UL has them.

The standard lights are still plenty bright. We have the regular lights (Bi-xenon I think?) on our RX and they still light up every bit of the road.
I considered doing a special order for a UL 350 without the triple beam headlights because of their expense and the thought that they were just an option to bump up the price. I then found the car that had almost everything I wanted - but also had the triple beam lights. I will say that I almost made a mistake in not getting them as they are a vast improvement IMO and the side cornering lights are the best. Plus they look fabulous next to the grille. Couple them with the auto hi-beam feature and I would highly recommend them.
Toyed with this as well when I got my F Sport. I will admit I never drove both at night to compare, but for me the look of the triple beams (blinker is led too and incandescent on the standard headlights), the stronger IIHS rating, and the fact that they’re adaptive (they turn in corners and at low speed have a cornering light as well) led me to going with the triple beam.
Love the look of them as well as knowing that it’s the best nighttime illumination I could get on the car.

The top one shows the triple beam light range. Scroll down to see the range measured for the standard headlights. They show a significant difference between the two headlight systems.
Just for comparison purposes, we have the triple beam headlights on our NX, and they produce significantly better roadway illumination than the standard NX lights. I realize this doesn’t apply to the ES directly, but from this experience I am very impressed with Lexus triple beam lighting and would argue that there is a good value to these lights beyond mere appearance.
My 2020 has the standard lights. They too have the side lights come on when turning. I did not see this listed as a feature but was please when I discovered it. It is one of my favorite features.

The triple beam headlamps are great, in my opinion absolutely worth it. I put a lot of miles on my car so a factory headlamp upgrade is something that I, personally, always go for. After having the triple LED lights on my 2019 ES, and having had a couple ES loaners without that option, they're noticeably brighter especially with the brights on...not to say the standard lights are bad at all, just that to me the upgrade was worth paying for.
My 2019 ES Luxury has these too. I believe the cornering lights are a standard feature. The triple beams have a different feature which lights your way around curves.
