2019 ES350 Garbage Sound System
SIDE NOTE: I was in the dealer less than a month ago getting the recalled fuel pump replaced. They notified me/us of it because it is a safety issue and they have to inform us.
At that time the dealer didn’t tell me there was a fix for the sound system I reported last year during my 5,000 mile check up and again at my 10,000 mile oil change.
I asked the dealer yesterday why they didn’t tell me when I was in last month that there was a fix for the sound system and he said the customer needs to bring up the “concern” at the time of service and it will be put on the work order and addressed. Since I didn’t mention it last month they didn’t address it.
i asked them why don’t they track these issues that are brought up and reach out to customers when/if a remedy is found and he basically said there’s no process for that and implied it would cost Lexus a lot of money to do it. They only reach out if it is required for a safety issue.
Moral of the story, when you bring in your car for ANY service and your advisor asks if you have any additional concerns that’s not the time to be shy. Mention every and any concern you’ve ever had about the car so it’ll be on the work order. It won’t get addressed if it’s not on the work order. Last month my stereo concern didn’t get addressed cause it wasn’t on the work order. So when I brought my car in earlier this week it was on the work order. It got fixed because...it was.....you know...on the work order! Lol

TSBs aside. Yes, this newest generation seems worse. But below is a summation I can think of.So many new to Lexus owners post about stereo systems over and over again
Here's a kist of common comments/misconceptions/fallacies I can think of, can you contribute more? Maybe there can then be a sticky?
I thought premium meant it'd sound great
Am I the only one disappointed in premium sound
ML is the only way to get good sound
I can buy aftermarket speakers that just drop in and are an electronic match (especially the rear woofer)
I can just change the amp to aftermarket.
I have to change all the speakers and amp to make a premium system sound much better.

Yes, my VIN fell within the range stated above by other commenters on this thread. I bought my car in January 2019. My guess is the VINs that came after the target range already came with the newer amplifier.
if you have your volume at 40 plus and the bias all the way to the rear speakers and you don’t have any volume then you have a legitimate problem. If your VIN is not covered just have the Lexus service Manager sit in the back seat and explain why there’s no volume. I’m sure he’d agree that an exemption should be made for your car.
again there is a know issue with the 2019 Lexus ES 350 Pioneer sound system. If that describes your vehicle then push the issue.

I took my 2020 ES with non ML in and was told by the dealer that the sound system is performing as designed.
I guess Lexus intended the inferior to Corolla base sound system in the $50K+ Lexus......

I purchased a 2020 ES. Took delivery on 10/30. My three prior cars were GS. The first thing I did was attempt to fix the sound as I like. I hate it. Yes, the sound comes from the front speakers. I like to balance based on my seating position. I want to hear the sound all around me. Unfortunately the sound is all up front or all in the back. YUK! Extremely disappointing.
