Default Raising volume in carplay?

Im new to this forum with a new 19 ES350. When using Apple car play- with google maps or waze, I can not raise the volume of the voice in turn by turn direction... music overpowers it. Whether it's music from apply car play or the radio, the background voice is so low for turn by turn.. I tried raising the volume with the **** when the voice is speaking but nothing gives..

I was “exploring” CarPlay for the first time in our ES today and found I needed to adjust the volume up on the phone. At risk of stating what may be obvious, have you tried adjusting the volume directly on your iPhone?

Yes but I didn't think the phone volume had anything to do with the car play since it's directly connect via usb??

Well... I’m pretty sure it was CarPlay but perhaps it was just while I was testing the Bluetooth connectivity. I was testing out numerous features and I may be mistaken, but it is my recollection that I had to fiddle with the phone volume while testing CarPlay.

That applies to Bluetooth. If you are playing music or listening to waze that way you have to make sure your volume is up. With car play via usb the volume feature on the phone is disabled.

Anyone else have a clue?

Try this. While the nav instructions are being given, adjust the radio volume know.

Raises the music. If I pause music, and turn volume **** it resumes. If music is off and I raise volume, music raises.

I noticed the same issue back in March when I first purchased my vehicle but didn't worry about it much this I hardly use navigation. This past weekend I used Apple Maps when attending the AX convention in Los Angeles. Since I was speaking with friends the music was low probably between 10-15 volume and I noticed the navigation prompts were louder. Since the navigation prompts seem to be fixed at a set volume while Apple Carplay is active have you tried to turn it off?

If I lower music I can hear prompts during google maps or waze. Otherwise I don't hear ***** when music is on. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Try raising the volume of Waze (or whatever app you are trying to use) before you connect it to Carplay. I have no idea how this is all set as Apple doesn't seem to publish anything about how volume is treated with Carplay. I have an LS500 and the volume of Waze is adequate. I don't blast music either, so maybe the volume is adequate for me.

Also what source do you use for Music when you use Carplay? Are you using something native to the car (radio, CD player, BT, USB) or one of the music apps on Carplay?
