Big delays to ES orders
Here in the UK (and Europe for that matter) we only get the 300h models but we’re experiencing very long delays to our ES orders due to unprecedented order volume. Did you
US guys who have ordered the 300h are you experiencing delays to your orders?
Here’s my order status: ordered ES Takumi on the 3rd March with an estimated ETA of the 20th July. This has now changed to delivery of 13th September with a build date of mid July and then 4 weeks on the boat to the UK arriving end of August. This 8 week delay (at least with UK orders) is now commonplace.
Cars ordered from April 2019 are now expected 2020!
Are you 300h guys seeing a similar picture?
Cheers

There's available stock in my area too (southern california). I received my fully loaded ES300h (Ultra Luxury with every single option except illuminated door sills) on August 31, 2018...manufacturing date was July 25, 2018. I'm almost to my 1 year mark and currently at 9800 miles! Trust me, it'll be worth your wait. I wish we could option-in the rear seat features you all get to choose from in the UK.

I think that it is great that Lexus finally has something that is desired in Europe! For me, my ES350 would be my choice over a BMW 530 or a Mercedes E300 even if it weren't about $20,000 US cheaper. I think the ES300h will be much easier to live with than a diesel, and will get better mileage in city driving.

The ES is certainly going to be rare in the UK as this years allocation is only 700 units. Even the dealers have sold their showroom cars to the public but as Lexus UK cannot resupply the dealers with new ES the showrooms are empty. If them. The dealers have been told not to sell their demonstrators.
I’m not sure why the ES is appealing to the UK market especially as the GS sold in very small numbers.

I'm glad the new ES has drawn interest in the UK. Of course I will be posting pictures of any that I spot while I'm visiting in a couple of months.

Given that every market in which a vehicle (Lexus in this case) may be sold is likely to have it's own set of regulations, standards, and testing methodologies and that the UK will also require right-hand drive, I'm not terribly surprised at a low production level until the actual sales demand is proven. It's one thing to do a market survey and have people say "oh yes, I'd buy one" and quite another to see them walking in the door of the dealership and making a down-payment.

I'm in California. I ordered mine October 23rd 2018. I was told sometime around mid February. In December I got a call that the order was messed up and the process had to be started over. Got my car April 3rd 2019. Got an extra $2500 off due to the wait.
