5K service coming up. What should I ask for?

If you don't want any personalized settings changed you don't have to ask for anything and will really only get a tire rotation and a wash. Oh yes, and they will check the positioning of your driver's side front floor mat.
How are you liking the car.

If it is not free you should ask for 90% of your money back. It is a tire rotation.

Almost not worth the effort unless you want a free car wash. I however had them change the oil on my dime. Not a fan of the 10k intervals and they gave me 50%off under those circumstances.

The big thing at 5000 miles is the free change to any of the personalized settings. I want to be able to put the windows down with my key-fob, so I have them make that change, Free tire rotation and wash are nice plus it is a time to get any squeeks or rattles fixed. They did find a leaking shock on an previous car and replaced it, so some level of inspection is actually done. This is also a time to schedule an appointment with the tech specialist to go over any tech issues (like why the WiFi hotspot keeps dropping off).

Regarding the personalized settings, does anybody know if they persist after your car battery dies? I had things personalized in my 2008 ES 350, only to lose the settings when the battery died after about 2 years. I just got a 2019 ES and I too would like to put the windows down with the key fob, but hoping it is a "permanent" setting and not dependent on the car battery...

I notice that several people in this thread have talked about getting a free car wash at the time of the 5000 mile (or any other) service.
Letting the dealer wash your car does come with some risks. Over the years, there have been a fair number of posts here on CL from people who have discovered, after the free dealer car wash, that there were scratches or other damage to the finish on their cars. Besides more serious damage, it is not uncommon for the car wash crews at the dealerships to introduce "free" polishing swirls into the finish as a part of the "free" wash. The reality is that the car wash crews at the dealerships are likely the lowest paid employees at the dealership, and the level of care that they take when washing a car can often fall far short of what it should be.
When I was at the dealership where I've bought multiple Lexus vehicles, I noticed that the service advisor had a stack of printed signs saying "do not wash" on his desk. When I asked him about the signs, he said that, for customers who are particular about the finishes on their cars, he recommends that they pass on the car wash that they could have gotten with their service and that, when a customer does not want the car wash, they put those signs on the dash to alert their service guys not to send the car to the wash crew when they are done with completing their service.
So, people might want to think twice before taking advantage of the "free" wash.

No free dealer car washes for me. I've never had one and don't plan on having one. I make my own signs and tape them on the window and steering wheel. usually the attendant looks at me as if I had two heads. Too many horror stories about swirls and scratches... Good advice Les...

Ive been doimg it for two years now on two different models with zero issues. Both white so swirl marks unlikely.

Regarding personalization, I intend to request option #33 - steering wheel remains in current position after car placed in park. Option #38 - Increase lane change flashes from 3 to 5...
I already changed the key fob windows down feature using Carista.

My steering wheel doesn't move when I go from D to P. Only when you turn off engine. Isnt that the default setting?

I forgot to add "when placed in park and vehicle turned off". And yes that is the default. I want it changed to where the steering wheel does not move and remains where it is set by the driver when the car is turned off... Option #34 in Nav manual...

I go for the first service on Tuesday. Where can I see this list of dealer set options?
Thanks
