Default No air flow from rear seat vents

I've had my ES 300h for a week. Today I noticed that there is no air coming from the back seat vents. I tried the **** that opens and closes the vent and nothing. I also thought maybe it's because I was in ECO mode which also impacts the climate system. I turned that off and still nothing. Is there maybe some climate control setting I'm missing somewhere or do I need to take it in to the dealer?

I figured it out. Something called S-FLOW. When it's on it gives priority to the front seats for climate control. I don't totally understand it but if I turn if off air starts flowing.

I wasn't aware the 2019 ES had SFlow. Yes it directs air to the seats occupied. RX has the same feature but with a hard button on the HVAC controls. How do you control it in the ES?

I have the ES350 Base. I don't know what level this included on, but I don't see the S-Flow choice in the Menu system, also no hard button.

It's buried in the climate control options.

Climate Options

The bottom left option currently highlighted is S-FLOW.

Also, on the main climate control screen you can see the S-FLOW indicator after ECO but it can't be changed from here. It also can't be changed from the pop-up Settings button.

Hmmm. I can't say with any certainty but I'm thinking if you have the rear vents you should have an S-flow choice somewhere... Check under Climate Control.

Is the default On or OFF?

No ES pictured but the video encompasses either the hard button or climate control soft buttons on various models that would include an ES...

According to the video the default looks like it would be on for air flow to the front only as passengers in the back seat are less frequent. Turn off and air to the rear passengers... I didn't even know this was a feature until it was posted today...

I thought when ON, it recognized where passengers were and directed air automatically. That's the way it works in our RX.

The way S-flow knows if there is a passenger in a seat is if the door was opened near that seat. I believe default is on, but if you opened one of the other doors (like the back door to put something in) then it will deactivate it.

I though perhaps it uses the airbag ON/OFF seat sensors?
