The standard headlights are LED as well. They are also very bright. The difference is the number of lights and the configuration. I didn't dislike the triple beam headlights I just thought the very minor (in my opinion) better look wasn't worth it to me for $1500. That's ridiculous. The HUD was only $500 and it actually improves my driving experience. An extra $1500 for a different layout of the headlights? That's just crazy in my opinion.
If they had been $500 I probably would have gotten that option.
I feel you... in retrospect I thought the price for the triple beam feature is a bit steep - it just so happened that the first available F-sport with my desired options had the triple beam headlamps. If I'd thought about it for more than 32 seconds, I probably would have waited on an F-Sport without the option. But I do happen to love the look of them. I also like that slow fade side lamp on turns that seems to only come on vehicles with triple beams.

The standard headlights have the side light for turns as well. I didn't even know that was a feature on the ES at all. It was something I noticed on the second day of owning the car.

Nice car. May I know what you upgraded from and what led to your decision on the ES?
I upgraded from a 2011 Camry hybrid. My Camry was 9 years old and while it was a great car and running fine I wanted to upgrade to something nicer that was quieter with a smoother ride. I also wanted to stick with the Toyota reliability.
Just to add to my original post. I mentioned the small dent on the roof that was there when I went to get the car. Today I had my appointment with the dent repair guy used by the dealership. They guy has 50 reviews on Yelp all 5 stars and did an excellent job. I can't even tell there was ever a dent.
