Default Tow Hook front license plate holder ???

Hi all,
Quick question about the front license plate holder for my new ES300H. My dealer did not install the normal front license plate holder for my car (even though MD requires it). They said many customers don't like it and will risk getting a ticket. I can certainly see that it will ruin the look of the front grill. I have since discovered a "tow hook" front license plate holder which will not require the drilling of holes and which seems to look marginally better. I would appreciate any thoughts or experiences with these holders. Or should I just bite the bullet and have the dealer install the standard holder? Thanks in advance.
P.S. Could not live without this forum; so much good info!

I kindda agree with you but to each his own when it comes to this. I've seen that plate holder in our area and they stick too far from the front bumper. On top of that you have to remove the plastic cover - which to me is a deal killer. How I wish NJ will just allow a rear plate number.

I agree. In the middle doesn't look great but at least it's balanced.

I have to agree! I’ve seen and preferred these alternative(temporary) plate mounts on other cars, but it just not in a good spot on this ES. Too high, and too close to the middle of the car. It’s still worth the risk, and even the expense, of not having a plate on the front.

I cant imagine it bothering me enough to risk having a cop give me a hard time for that. I bought this frame for the front plate and it looks superb against the FSport mesh grill.
