What was your experience buying at Lexus dealer

Lexus seems to be the least aggressive when it comes to pushing the 95% profit margin extended coverages. When we bought our RX, there were no suggestions at all. With my ES Fsport, they did try to sell me the tire and wheel protection citing the low profile tires but I passed on that. I self-insure.

I have bought or leased 7 cars from the local Lexus dealership. I have always felt like a valued customer and have been treated as such. No pressure and comfortable sales experience and the service experience is similar. The tech specialist is young but very good. On my last delivery, he spent an hour going over all the new tech then came to my home to help with garage door programing and questions about new tech systems. The waiting room is very comfortable and nicely furnished. Service visits always start with a valet to accept the car and to escort me to the Service Advisor's office. The Finance Manager pushes the "extras" but very softly and I always decline. The dealership experience is fitting for a luxury car.

I'll give the Savannah, Ga dealership two thumbs up. Buying a new vehicle isn't a new experience, however this was my first new Lexus. No pressure and no rushing us through so they can get to the next customer. The add-ons were presented as informational and they didn't resort to doom and gloom sales pressure. The presentation of the car with the big red bow was a nice unexpected touch. It didn't mean a lot to me..... The misses LOVED IT. When mamma's happy, everyone's happy

Happy to hear those who had a good experience. The buying process went smoothly for me. The issue I am having is being able to get answers to questions about some of the technology. I definitely needs hands-on with somebody in Lexus land. This dealer has hundreds of good reviews on dealer rater website. I don't know if that's a joke?

I had to special order. I want to hybrid with the Ultra Luxury package with ML sound and the HUD which apparently isn't made for normal stock.
The dealer told me that discounts aren't as big on special orders so he was only able to take off $1,000 of MSRP. That brought it down to $51,815. He also said I'd get whatever deals there were at the time of delivery.
The problem I've had is apparently they screwed up my order and it was scheduled to be made as a regular gas version instead of the hybrid like I ordered. I'm not sure if it was the dealer's fault or the factory but for whatever reason once it's scheduled for production it can't be changed. Now I'm delayed almost 2 months. I ordered on October 24th 2018 and probably won't be getting my car until April. Very upsetting but the dealer offered a better discount but didn't give specifics. I'm going to ask for an extra $1,500 off in addition to the current deals when it comes in.

I'm certainly not happy about the wait but if I'm spending $50,000+ on a car I want it exactly how I want it.
If I cancel my order and go to a different dealer I'll be starting the process all over again. That would mean getting in June rather than probably April.

Why can't a customer get a better discount on a custom order compared to a car on the lot? The dealer is not having to pay insurance and other fees for the custom order because it won't sit on the lot for days or weeks or months.
If the dealership thinks they can't easily sell your custom order because you change your mind, they should be willing to deal with you. Because somebody messed up, you are having to wait longer to get the car. I would negotiate a deal like some of the other people got. Don't leave until they come down on the price. Because you special ordered it, they will think you really want it and are willing to pay whatever price they want. I think you have the advantage.
