However the Lexus response was basically that there was nothing that could be done about the sound and it was because of the cars design. The service tech also drove some of the other cars on the lot to see if they had the same problem. According to him the newer cars were actually louder than mine. Lexus has an issue here that needs to be addressed. To say the least I will be talking to Lexus about this.

Thanks for updating us on what you have found out.

I got an update from my dealer yesterday. Lexus knows about the issue and apparently it's one of the door seals which makes sense based on the noise in my car. They don't have a redesigned part yet so all they can currently do is replace the seal with the same part. My dealer is advising me to wait a few weeks and see if they have an updated part.

At speeds over 50 I can hear wind noise coming from Outside the car. It sounds like it is wind noise coming through the glass. Not wind actually getting inside the car?

For those that don't hear any wind noise, consider yourself lucky. I've driving my new one plus a couple additional new ones from the dealership and they all sound as loud or louder than the one I own.

Took mine to the dealership for 5000 mile service AND the noise problem. Service tech still i saying that they did all the tests and found no excessive noise, finding my vehicle to be "normal." For those of you that got a confirmation from your dealership about this problem, are there any supporting document that they had acknowledged this issue??

I recently purchased a 2016 ES and noticed the noise immediately. On the highway around 60 MPH. It’s definitely annoying.

I have the protection film film on the vehicle.

Should I take it in for service? Or just accept that there’s no fix yet ?

Your 2016 ES is a Generation 6 ES. With many car models, there is the possibility of a wind whistle at 50+ mph speeds whose cause is likely to be paint protection film on the driver's side mirror.

The wind noise that is being talked about in this thread for the 2019 (Generation 7) ES appears (for most who have posted) to be a completely different issue than what you are experiencing and one that is not related to paint protection film. For your issue, if you remove the paint protection film on the driver's side mirror, it should solve the problem. Sometimes, if the film is re-applied, everything can be okay because it seems that the whistle problem can either be there or not be there based on a slightly different positioning of the film.

Default Wind noise

I have the same problem, 2016 rx 350, sounds like it is coming from back left passenger window. Weatherstripping was replaced by dealer, now its louder now, drives me nuts. 2020 loaner has no wind sound. Dealer said it was normal wind sound, well no its not. Did not do this when purchased. Only 26 000 miles on vehicle. Left it with dealer, for a lexus technician to test drive in 3 days. Not happy right now.

CStone,

Just a quick heads up. I took my 2019 ES350 FSport to my dealer here in Houston on April 10, 2019. Had a tech ride with me and sit in the left back passenger seat. The wind noise was very evident. They gave me a loaner vehicle for the day. Service writer texted me with disappointing news. The next morning I filed a complaint with Lexus. Called Lexus Corporate later that morning to verbalize my issue and provided them with the complaint number. I also emailed the manager of the Service Department of the Houston dealership. Amazingly enough, the manager of the Service Department has setup an appointment with me on April 18, 2019 to meet with the Area Tech - top guy in his field. Also received a call from my Case Manager confirming the appointment. They also stated they were happy I had reached out to them. I drop the car off April 17th after work. I will keep you posted on the outcome. I think I have Lexus buzzing now. I had sent the Club Lexus link with this particular complaint to the Service Manager. I am looking for good results.

Have a good weekend.
