One thing I find really annoying is how the radio presets work. Presets for all sources are merged into a single list instead of being separated by source (AM, FM, XM). On my 2011 Camry each source had its own presets. There were pages of 6 (1 page of 6 for AM, 2 pages of 6 for FM and 3 pages of 6 for XM). I didn't like the pages part but at least they were separated by source. All mixed together makes it take longer to get to the desired preset. It also makes it a lot more work to add a new preset. Very annoying.

Harsh downshift in the 30/35 mph range in D when transitioning from light throttle to 3/4 + throttle. Drove several others and dealer drove mine. They all do it. Only cure is to downshift to S3 or 4 and then the shift is very nice.

Went to the Lexus portal to make my 5k Service appointment. All the portal did was forward me to the dealers website where I had to re-enter all my contact info, year and model. I kinda expected more from the portal. #Minor*****

I have encountered an odd annoyance. In addition to the windshield, the windshield washer sprays all side windows, the rear window, moonroof and the roof. It is not a huge deal, but I would prefer the spray doesn’t cover most of the car - especially if the windshield is the only glass I wanted to clean. I will ask if it can be adjusted, but I wondered if everyone is seeing this energetic window sprayer?

We don’t have CarPlay here in the U.K. but I tried the exact same cable in a U.K. demo ES and it worked perfectly insofar as syncing, playing music, etc. The cable does allow the cover to close but it’s a snug fit so when you press the cover release button the cover doesn’t rise without a little encouragement from your fingers🙂. It’s quite a substantial cable though as it’s braided so should put up with some abuse. I ordered 3 cables just to be safe. Just need my ES now. Mine is 5 months in and still not built but I think it’s imminent. The 300h versions are running 8-12 weeks behind schedule partly due to demand for the 4th generation engine and hybrid system. Isn’t it also in the new Camry and RAV4?

Using angled USB
Someone recommended an angled (90 degree) USB cable since it would allow you to close the door over the USB ports. However since you cannot route the cable out of that area you still must place the iPhone in same area so you still cannot close the door. No space to run the cable over to the center console which would allow you to connect the phone there. You then could close the cover. The center console is designed to let you route cables but the place you actually need to plug in the cable is not designed that way. Lame

Annoying: The darn artificial sound that the ES300H makes when forward or reverse at low speeds to warn people that it's moving. Sounds like worn out grinding brakes. Wife called me one morning and asked what that was? She said she heard it from the bedroom and I was pulling out of the garage. Other than that and a little irritated at the touch pad at times, I absolutely love the car!

It shows as part of the blind spot monitoring on my sticker. I wonder if it also requires the larger 12” screen? This is our first vehicle with panoramic view and we really like it.
