For 2023 and later model year consoles, it appears there's already a cable routing channel built into the left front corner of the top of the console box.

It doesn't take much searching to find a USB-C powered, puck-style Qi2 certified wireless charger (even in black color to blend in) from reputable accessory vendors that don't cost much. Belkin has a Magnetic Wireless Charging Pad with Qi2 15W, Black, and Anker has an Anker Zolo Magnetic Wireless Charger, Qi2 Certified 15W MagSafe-Compatible Wireless Charging Pad, for iPhone 17/16/15/14/13/12 Series, AirPods, and More (other sources available and cheaper, but Amazon was the only seller I could readily find selling it in a one-pack and black colored).

Thanks but why add those wired blobs when you could simply plug the cable into your phone?

It wouldn't really be a wired blob if you routed it thru the console channel like @grp52 suggested.

This one has a bigger pad area which might be more suitable in a car
Anker Anker
but it charges slower. Personally I prefer the slower chargers, there is less heat risk and it's better for battery longevity.

There are chargers with rectangular/ large pad areas meant for use in a car but they are often returned and have terrible star ratings.

I didn't suggest that one because it is only an older, Qi standard supporting charger. For newer iPhone models with MagSafe/Qi2 wireless charging, a MagSafe/Qi2 wireless charger is what you want. The magnets system keeps the charging coils optimally aligned with the additional benefit of keeping the iPhone in place under most, if not all, normal vehicle movements. (Plus, for iPhones, a MagSafe/Qi2 wireless charger allows for faster/higher wattage charging. Since the ES's USB-C charging ports are limited to 3 A at 5 VDC, a 15 W MagSafe/Qi2 wireless charger is the highest power-rated charger to look for.)

Also, as long as the size is sufficient for enclosing a charging coil size optimal for coupling with the coil in the device being charged (a phone in this case), pad area isn't a factor. In the case of iPhones with the larger camera bumps, larger pad areas are probably detrimental to optimal wireless charging since it may prevent the iPhone's charging coil being parallel placed over the charging coil in the charging pad.

If you look at the specs of the Qi2/MagSafe wireless chargers I suggested, you'll see both are smart chargers that continually monitor the state of charging and the charging temperature so as to continually adjust charging to avoid thermal issues and degrading the battery being charged. (Many wireless charging smartphone manufacturers/designers, including Apple, have incorporated some form of a smart wireless charging system to facilitate optimal wireless charging while avoiding battery life degradation.)

To reduce concerns over wireless charging heat risk and degrading battery longevity, look for devices/smartphones with smart wireless charging and for smart wireless chargers with compatible smart wireless charging systems. (Preferably, chargers that have undergone a compatibility certification.)

Exactly. I would never replace a wireless charger in my car with another wireless charger unless it looked factory. The slow wireless charging isn't really relevant because I can easily charge the phone at night or at my destination.

Wireless charging is a false convenience that really isn't great; if it isn't great, I'm not going to replace the charger, I'm just going to charge it on the cable with a proper high wattage charger. USB-C is a great ******* cable.

As a feature I think it gets more attention and buzz than it deserves. It's basically useless; a false convenience.

I find it easier to plunk the phone on the charging disk at the end of the day rather than fumble around with the cable. As far as the wireless car charger, it tops it off while driving which is not a bad thing.
One man's false convenience is another's necessity.

I was about to say: "One man's false convenience is another man's convenience"

In 2021 I bought a new ES. At the time I had an iPhone 11, and the wireless charger worked fine - it was slow but would keep the charge steady while the phone was in place.

Then I updated to the iPhone 14 and the wireless charger would charge for about 30 seconds and then stop and flash the light. The Lexus dealer checked the charger and said they could find no issue with it. I identified the newer, better, protruding camera as the reason for the change in charging.

I later upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro and the wireless charger continued to be useless.

Earlier this year I traded my 2021 ES for a 2025 which has a newer wireless charger, and my iPhone 15 Pro charged quite well, both faster than the original 2019-2022 ES charger, and also staying connected the entire time.

The charger technology keeps improving but it seems to struggle to keep up with the changing phones.

My 15 Pro charges enough on my 24ES350UL charging pad to keep up with playing podcasts and using Waze on road trips.

Anyone tried the AliExpress upgrade route? Having an iphone I want the magsafe to hold the phone in place and avoid the camera preventing full contact.
Or got a 23+ center console dissassembly video handy?

I bought the same one for my 24 ES and the plug was different. It fits and looks perfect but could not connect it. I ended returning it.
