Question Gen 6 Key?

Any one know if a gen 6 key can be programmed to work both a 2016 ES350 and a 2025 ES350 and opposite...(2025 Gen 7 key programmed to a 2016 ES 350)?

My wife has a 16 ES350 UL and I now have a 2025 ES 350 UL. We both keep wallet keys in our wallets. Often we drive together and it would be great if I could use my wallet key if I wanted to drive her car or she could use her wallet key to drive my car.

Not possible.

To address security vulnerabilities in Lexus/Toyota/Scion immobilizer systems, Toyota upgraded their system to a one-time/one-use/one-immobilizer pairing encrypted and certified Security credentialed person only system. The 7th generation of ES uses that upgraded system. The key fobs and cards already paired to your 7th generation ES can and will only work with that specific vehicle and if they are ever unpaired/removed for that ES's immobilizer system the key fob/card can never be used again for any vehicle including the one it had been previously paired with.

See my unpair a key fob post #3 for additional details and some links to more information on the topic.

Shucks, This seems stupid to me. If a family has multiple lexus products, they should have the option to link them to one key. At least the Older vehicle should be able to accept the newer key even if the newer vehicle cant accept the older one.
