First, be aware the immobilizer system used in this generation of ES allow ONLY a one time use/pairing of a key fob/card to ANY vehicle. Once a paired key fob/card is removed/unpaired from an immobilizer system the key fob/card is worthless - never to be used again in any vehicle including the vehicle the key fob/card was initially paired with.

That said, there's no general public available means of unpairing a key fob/card with the generation of ES. Although it focuses on programming a key fob/card, the Techstream Smart Key Seed Number Help! thread in particular my posts #3 and #5 in that thread have references and information on what's required and who can pair/unpair key fobs/cards. (The TSB pdf linked to in my post #3 in that thread has starting on page 30 the TechStream procedures a Key Codes authorized locksmith/service department technician has to perform to remove/unpair a key fob/card from this generation of ES's immobilizer system.)

Why you were trying to unpair? If it's for security purposes to deter relay attacks or to save battery, you can simply put your fob to sleep mode, which temporarily disables its signal transmission. To do this, simply hold down the lock button and press the unlock button twice. The key fob will flash four times to indicate it's in sleep mode (temporarily disabled).

As others have mentioned, unpairing a key fob renders it unusable and requires the use of Techstream.

On my 2025 Lexus the remote has no lights on it so you cant see any flashes.

You can test by getting near to the car and try to open. If fob has been disabled keyless entry will not work. To re-enable just press any button on the fob.

See the illustration in the "Turning an electronic key to battery-saving mode" section on page 106 of the 2025 LEXUS ES250, ES350 OWNER'S MANUAL USA AND CANADA ONLY for where the light is located on a key fob. On an actual key fob, it isn't obvious there's a light located where the manual's illustration indicates, but you can see a reddish light flashing there when you press the buttons as the manual directs. (On my key fob, the light also flashes once when the lock or unlock button is pressed.)

If you have a key fob glove installed, the area when the light is located might be obscured by the glove if the glove positioning on the fob is a little bit off.

Thank you for your reply. I guess if we would just take the time to read the manual we would find all the answers there.
I was a first time Lexus owner when I purchased mine. Basically I was overwhelmed of having all the settings. I think it would be nice if they included a dvd explaing all this in a video format. I think it would be very helpfull for first time buyers

There's a YT full ES deep dive tutorial from Melissa O'Connell from NSL. It has an index to jump into specifics topics. Very useful.
