Default Infotainment Interface Software Update

It appears there’s an update to the Lexus interface software found on the most current Lexus infotainment system (7th gen ES model years 2023-2025). The latest interface version is V2170 as per the link below and is installed via a Lexus “pushed” OTA (Over The Air update). Perhaps some of 2025 Lexus models are being delivered with this version??

My 2024 ES350 came from the factory late last year with V2150. I’ve checked my infotainment system / settings for an update multiple times. The system continues to report “no update available”. I’m especially interested in the update as I will often switch between Apple CarPlay and the native Lexus infotainment system. The new interface version retains the column of Lexus infotainment links for navigation, phone, music systems, etc while in CarPlay.

Has anyone with the latest generation of Lexus infotainment system gotten the interface software update? Was it an OTA “push” update by Lexus or were you able to initiate the update another way? And, finally, how do you like the latest version? Any, other notable features worth mentioning? Thanks.

Off topic but related.... my 2025 ES350 ultra luxury always shows school zone alert on the screen when passing a school. Noone at dealership can help me disable this. Any ideas from the group.
Thanks

There is no way to disable even through techstream. This very smart system will even alert you when the school was torn down 10 years ago. Hi tech.

I enjoy learning that I am entering a school zone at 2AM.
Why not other zones? Entering a Church Zone would remind me to watch my language, and entering a Shopping Zone would remind me to check my credit card limit.

To be fair Lexus is not the only manufacturer doing this. I don't think they are factoring in the fact when the warning appears you have to take your eyes off the road where 100% concentration needs to be in a school zone that is clearly marked. Some may need the warning but there should be an option to disable for those that don't need it and view it as nothing but an annoyance. Afraid this is the way our world is going.

I agree, but I also agree with my friend who, on a first ride in my swell new car, remarked on the technology that popped up the entering a school zone note.

...
The linked video is showing an update for Lexus NX using the Canadian version of the Lexus Interface system software. The NX is built on a "newer", different, more feature rich supporting electrical platform than the "older" electrical platform used in the 2023 and later model year ESs using the Lexus Interface system. While I wouldn't rule out some software source code components being common to both systems, a fully build Canadian NX Lexus Interface system software package and a fully built US ES Lexus Interface system software package are completely different and non compatible.

Also, if you look at the NX model info shown in the video with your ES's "Software Update"'s Model info you'll see nothing matches up with Model ID and Parts no. numbers listings.

In short, just because there's a Lexus Interface software update for a Canadian Lexus NX has no implication whatsoever about the possibility of a software update for a US Lexus ES Lexus Interface system.

Look mate: if the zombie apocalypse happens and the students turn into late night zombies, you'll be thankful for that 2am alert.

How do I find the current version number for the Lexus interface software? I can't find it in my menus.

There's no one single version number for the "new" Lexus Interface system software. In the above video starting at about the 1:06 time mark, you'll see the Canadian version NX's Lexus Interface Model Info list of installed software modules being scrolled through with each module having a "Version" item as the last entry for each software module listed. Although the module information is different for ES Lexus Interface systems, the same sort of Module Info listing found in the same menu and item selection chain as seen in the NX video. I.e., Setup (the gear icon on the main/left side menu), "Software update" on the resulting secondary menu list, and the "Model info" on the resulting display panel from the "Software update" selection when selected will produce a scrollable listing of installed software modules with the associated information for each module.

For a US 2024 Lexus ES 350 UL you should see for Model info a scrollable list with software module information (including a version for each) for HU SW, CA SW, VP SW, GD SW, VD SW, OD SW, SM SW, and AP SW software modules.

I don't know what those two letter module labels are associated with "regular" human understandable names. In the NX video starting at the 2:04 time mark you can see the NX software update involve the "Navigation" and "Voice Recognition" modules with current version numbers of 2050. If you pay attention while the before update Model info is being scrolled though (starting at about the 1:06 time mark) you can see the HU SW, VD SW, and VP SW software modules have a version of 2050. Your guess is as good as mine as to which of two of the three 2050 version modules are involved in the Canadian NX's software update and which "regular" human understandable name goes with which two letter labeled module.

Thanks, GRP. I found that long list also, and was totally confused. Since my setting is for auto-updates, all I can do is assume that current versions will be downloaded and installed from time to time.
Since everything is working fine now, I'm OK with that.

Thanks GRP52. I agree, it appears that the OTA interface update isn’t applicable to all models. Like tfisher, I’ll hang tight and hope Lexus rolls the update out to our ES models. Thanks again for your input.

I have a 2024 Lexus es300h f sport and I got that feature. Not sure why they haven’t released for all but I bet they will.

Hmm... Perhaps I've missed something but I don't think there's any auto-update option for the Lexus Interface system software. There's only a notification setting where you can be automatically notified that a software update is available. Actually updating the software, if a software update is available, requires someone in the vehicle manually initiating one of the three possible (DCM download, Wi-Fi download, or USB flash drive) software update processes.
