Question 8 speed direct shift TSB

I just had a look at the TSB by Toyota for Camry using the 8 speed transmission.
Why didn't they also list Lexus in that TSB?
Does Lexus use a different 8 speed transmission?

If it was a software update, why couldn't they just update the software?
In that TSB, they are replacing the whole transmission.

Did the bad software caused the transmission to fail and updating it wouldn't really fix the issue?
