NY Auto show report
Well my fellow members, spent 5 hours viewing all the various cars on display at the show. Some real beauties... I spent time speaking to 3 different Lexus representatives at the large Toyota/Lexus display area.
There were no 2025 models on display. Each of the representatives stated that there was no information available as to whether the 2025 model year would initiate generation 8, or whether the 2025 model year specifically for the Executive Sedan (ES) would incorporate any significant changes. Asked about the engine in the non hybrid ES, the V6, two of the three stated that they had no information regarding whether there would be a change to a 4 cylinder vs. the V6. One stated that he believed that there would be no change and the V6 would remain. My impression was that none of the reps had any real knowledge of the future Lexus offerings. So basically, little new info available regarding the ES for 2025. Sorry to disappoint with this post but it is what it is... And please remember I'm only the messenger...

I didn't ask about the Avalon but did notice a Corolla R - 6 speed tranny model that had a Chevvy 454 V8 with trips dropped into it and will be available for production in 2025... Starting at $19,999.00. If interested I'd get on the list ASAP.
...Not really...

Encouraging for some of us that 1 of the 3 Lexus reps at the NY car show thought the V-6 would survive for Gen 8. But even their thoughts were essentially speculative.

Buy a 2024 with V6 and it will probably last the rest of yours and your children's lives. I wouldn't obsess over this any longer.
PS Enjoying the speculation (obsession is a misnomer). The speculation is interesting and doesn’t cost a red cent. Have the same thing going with my fellow Pittsburgh Pirate fans . We all enjoy it, especially during the winter months——used to be referred to as “Hot stove League.”
Lighten up, man!
I first want to see the new styling changes 9n Gen 8. Hoping it will have the v-6 and updated styling, as well.
