The rental company has no need to know what your purpose for renting is. They just hand over a car and expect you to hand over your money.

I don't know what part of Pennsylvania you're in, but Avis in Philadelphia says on their website that they rent out ES's. Of course, they list them on the site as "or similar" to avoid promising you anything, so you'll want to make sure you get that nailed down.

This car has a terrible stereo. I have a Sequoia, Camry and Avalon and all have much better stereos. I have the F Sport and it can’t find the right gear to be in. The only time it drives, just okay is in sport mode. Sluggish and gas mileage is 21.5 MPG. Avalon gets 25 MPG! Just pass on this car.... Lexus fix the RADIO already and the hesitation on this ride. Update: Same exact problems as noted above. Took it in for its 5000 mile service and they told me it has more gears so it is going to shift all the time and there is no update to this. I told them that it was garbage and wish I wouldn’t have bought this lemon. I am going to update some of the stars above because I think I went too high on some of them.
Did anyone actually answer your question? Is this reviewer your quoting talking about a 2024 ES? Just sounds like this guy will complain about anything. When I bought my 2013 Avalon V6 limited, I went with the Limited because all the lower trims stereo where not good. I was happy with the JBL upgrade. I traveled 100 miles to a dealer that had both sound systems and to test a few other item between trims on the ES. I listen to both systems and the Mark L. wasn't all that much better. The base stereo is a bit weaker than my Avalon JBL but you can adjust the high, low and midrange that helps. As for the rest, the ES is not a sports car. It's not why you buy the ES. I'm averaging around 26 MPG with mixed driving. Anyway, If you want the Mark L. sound system you will have to find and pay for a Ultra or high optioned F Sport handling trim. They say is an option on every trim but Lexus seems to only put it on those allocated builds.
