Default Auto Parking Brake

The slight jerk from the parking brake auto engaging is getting old.

1. Should I disengage this feature. I never park on hills.

2. How do I do it?

Turn the ignition on, release the parking brake, press and hold the parking brake button until you see the message that EPB is....

Pull the button out and hold for a few seconds until it changes. A message will pop up on dash. Reverse process to turn auto parking brake on.

Typically the clunk sound is from the transmission Parking pawl, if it is under pressure. There should not be any jerk from your parking brake.

When I park somewhere with a slight slope I put the car in neutral apply parking brake, let go of the brake and then put the car in park. this way transmission is not loaded.

I encountered that at first, so I've trained myself to keep my foot on the brake for about two seconds longer after I put the car in Park just to give everything time to set, including the parking brake. I no longer encounter any jerking as I did at first. It was a simple thing to train myself but now that little delay before letting off of the brake pedal makes it all very smooth and I don't even think about it anymore,

^ That is what I do, with auto parking brake there is no jerking if you keep your foot on the brakes for 2 seconds after shifting to Park, doing this is second nature to me so I have never encountered any jerking when parking, the only jerking I have experienced is the common one you sometimes get when taking the parking brake off when on an incline.
