Default Speculating on New 2025 Model ES 350

Reading what little there is on line regarding the eventual re-styled ES 350 speculated to come out in calendar 2024 for M/Y 2025, the car will probably be a turbo 4 with a hybrid model alternative choice. I wonder how the styling will be changed. Hopefully, it won’t look like the Crown! I’m hoping for a sleek sedan like the 2021 350 I presently drive.
Just wondering if anyone has read or heard anything else. Probably, I’ll just wind up keeping my current car for the long haul. I can’t imagine anything more beautiful anyway!😜

The new reduced grill on the RX and the electric are probably a clue the spindle is getting toned down.

Which is sad because they finally got it right, looks great on the current ES/IS/LS.

Yes, once one sort of gets used to the whole large grill thing, it really does look good.
Bet the price will jump!

Definitely seeing it having a turbo 4cyl with a hybrid and similar front end to that of the new RX along with that new nice looking infotainment. I just hope it doesn't have the body lines of the Crown, please don't go that route Lexus, please.

I think they will keep the current hybrid, put 2.4T alone, 2.4T with hybrid and I hope a AWD with MGR.

Two reasons near the top of my list for why I jumped to Lexus:
  1. V6. Turbocharged 4 just...no. (also a primary reason I parted ways with Acura. It broke my heart to test drive the A-Spec TLX)
  2. None of that ridiculous engine shut off at a stop. I'm really coming into my age as a crotchety old man, as I angrily shake my fist at this absurdity.
But yes, very interested to see the new ES!

The V6 is such a sweet engine with power and smooth as a baby's a$$... Would be sorry to see it go... I rented a BMW in Germany with the auto shutoff when stopped but you could turn it off if desired... What a PITA...

Sadly the automotive world has virtually dictated that the new ES will be a turbo 4. Hopefully Toyota is working to improve the smoothness of their set up because that is a fairly common negative thread in reviews of the new RX. Fours are buzzy and noisy to begin with, but with a lot of engineering - which Toyota is capable of - they can be smoothed out somewhat. Other makers are doing a better job than Toyota. The sound? Well it's usually pretty awful with a turbo on a four, like a Dyson under your hood, which is why a lot of companies are pumping in fake engine noise (the current LS, if I'm not mistaken, has some artificial sound even with the V6). And don't get me started on the auto stop/start. I get that they put it in because then it's calculated into the mpg average, but they universally stink especially on a four banger. Hopefully there would at least be a shut off switch (not an icon buried under three submenus).

The nature of these fours will push more people into EV's to avoid the shuddering clatter.

A.S.S. (Automatic start stop) is a real PIA and a main reason I chose my Lexus over the BMW and Mercedes I test drove. Also run flat tires and moonroof that slides OVER roof rather than as Lexus’ tasteful pocket door type arrangement. Hope those things in Lexus stay unchanged.

Rented a BMW in the South of France with it. INTOLERABLE!

Look at the RZ to see future Lexus direction. Glass roof, no sunroof, no shade. Runflat tires for sure. Screen to control almost everything. I think other Toyo-Lex 2.4L turbos have auto start-stop??

My $0.02. The V6 will be gone (that's a no brainer). Spare tire very likely gone. Same 2.5L hybrid or new 2.4 turbo to replace the V6.

My wish is for a PHEV AWD ES that isn't just a rebadged Crown. And better ambient lighting, not like the RZ that's still too boring, more like BMW or Mercedes. Make it an option anyway

Betcha’ it’ll look like this possible Camry model. If so, it could be nice. incremental, rather than radical change. Hope that the mechanicals continue as they are.
