Default Wind draft from driver side door

Recently noticed that I feel a cold draft seeping through the driver side door handle and the window switches panel when I'm driving on the highway. I am certain that it's not the AC vent because I had the heat on and had pushed the direction up at another time. Inspected the surrounding area but don't see any cracked seals or anything. Not really important but I usually sit with my left leg bent 90 deg with my left hand rested on my knee, so that's how I was able to feel the draft.

Not the end of the world but anyone else notice a draft?

I haven't noticed any drafts but i'm sure i can find one if i was looking for it. that's not uncommon generally for cars as car doors aren't really air tight. theres drain holes and such to the outside world.

also possible you could be missing a vapor barrier or bad seal somewhere inside. anyone work on the car previously? did you buy it used?

i'll see if i remember to check for air drafts when i drive

it's a CPO 2019 and got it last Sept. There wasn't any record of work being done nor do I see any evidence of modifications

have not...sorry. I was just curious to see if anyone else had this issue. Will ask when I bring it in for next service in the summer.

Probably better, even though less convenient, to take it in now. When it's warm out, they'll never be able to find a cold draft. You'll get the dreaded "couldn't find problem."

I've never heard any wind noises in the back. Wonder if one could just stuff some foam back there or just straighten the seal. Seems like the entire 1/4 glass assembly is replaced just due to a wavy seal? Seems wasteful.

meant to type this in the TSB thread

FWIW, I just got mine back. When I complained of wind noise that started at about 45MPH and got really bad at highway speeds, they found a service bulletin that indicated it was the rear driver's side quarter glass panel so theyr replaced it and viola... wind noise abated.

Not sure if that'll help you with the draft you noticed but worth taking in to let them look it over.

The small window goes with the seal. You can't get them separated.

I'll bring it in next month, when things slow down for me at work. Will bring up the draft, quarter panel and speakers in the rear and update this after.

Side note, this would be my first "new" car so first time bringing it into a dealership for any kind of warranty service. If I make an appointment for like 8am on a specific day, how long should I expect to be there for if it's just drop off? Not sure if it's a 10 minute thing or an hour... Anything else I should expect or know? Pardon the dumb questions

Not a dumb question at all.

I'd suggest you ask your dealer first. If they're like a lot of Lexus dealers, they'll either give you a free loaner or pick up and drop off your car free at your home or workplace. It's one of the reasons we pay extra for what others ridicule as our "overpriced Camrys."
