Does 2022 ES300h have active grill shutters?
Is that your car and are you in the US? I don't recall seeing that on mine.
Per my post it makes sense it would have to make something as drastic as the drag difference, but it puzzled me that i couldn't locate the shutters. and i always said it can't be the spoiler.
i'll triple check mine in a bit... presumably with the car in park but hybrid system in READY mode, these flaps should be closed for aero. i'll try that too I guess..

When the engine is off, the flap is open. When you turn the engine on, the actuator does a check and if the flap can be closed (if it not blocked by ice or something else) it will close it and keep it that way until the ICE/inverter/AC need some fresh air. ES350 does not have this flap.
If the question is why the ES300h has much lower drag coeficient than the ES350, the answer is because of the undebody/spoiler/flaps.
