Touch-pad isn't bad. However I am a younger person I can see my 70 year old dad having an issue with it especially while driving.

touch pad sucks. My wife and I both hate it. but that won't stop me from buying a car. I would still buy an ES again.

I've gotten used to the touchpad so I don't have a problem with it. You can also use voice commands. I leased a Camry at one time and it had a touchscreen. I did not like it.

I found an interesting article on touch screens in cars. https://www.npr.org/2017/10/09/55670...-doing-to-help

It's not great but it's still the best non-touch screen infotainment control I've used. That old sliding joystick Lexus used was awful. The dial that German cars use is pretty bad too.

Thanks to all for the advice - good and otherwise. I brought home a new ES350 today. Very happy with decision.

My touchpad stick and refuses to go where I want. I have to just click on something else and then go back at it.

Yes, congrats indeed. The word is, if there aren’t pictures it didn’t happen. Please post pics of your new ride.

A lesser known trick when using the track pad with on screen lists such as
radio stations, songs or phone numbers...use the scroll bar on the right by
placing the cursor on it (it will light up) and then press down (it will brighten
up considerably). You can know scroll Very Quickly from top to bottom.
Press down again to return to slow the scroll rate back to page by page.

That's one part of the pad I hate. I guess I have to get used to the PRESS AGAIN to lock it otherwise it scrolls out of control quickly past what I was looking for.

I've had my ES for 4 months, and still hate the touch pad and design of the entire infotainment system. (I'm 80--maybe that's the reason!)
