Soft Close Door Latches Installed
I don't know how secure aftermarket latches are, in the event of a crash. You would want to of course prevent unwanted door opening events, risking ejection in certain crashes.
If i'm not mistaken, those soft close things involve replacing the entire latch assembly which cinches down on the striker.
afaik those aftermarket pieces, while cool and work to softly close the doors, are designed and made in china
OEMs have hard enough time to prevent door opening events due to the latch breaking.

read the title soft closing doors.!!
people is just brainwashed on whatever
By reading my posts you can see I would never want them because of experience with my LS430 and killing battery when don't work properly. The pros for this is to keep from slamming the doors which jars everything in car including electronics. Shutting a door with another door open is different mind thinking in how hard to shut door which can result in slamming doors which can't be good even on a small scale.
I installed all 4 doors around 3 years ago. They all work, but my passenger side has like a 1 in 100 chance to false lock too early making it bang the latch when closing the door. I also believe it's rattling a bit due to this (hard slammers).
Installed soft close door latches in the front 2 doors so far. Let me know if anyone is interested in doing it, I can make a tutorial for the rear doors in the next 2ish weeks (it's allegedly going to rain for the next week). Rear door in theory should be pretty much identical to the front doors in terms of installation.
Was originally going to make a tutorial for the passenger side door but I didn't use a tripod the video was awful, and I did half the work after sunset which means you can't see anything in the video 🤡
Attachment 508913
Bought them on alibaba, won't list which store I bought it from specifically but if you plan on buying it. I strongly recommend you make sure it includes a piggyback harness (Y splitter) for sourcing +12v instead of splicing into existing wires for power with T taps.
