...
Updates:
- Lexus navigation systems download map updates and traffic information twice a month and can also download map information in advance if it detects a loss of connectivity.
- Real-time traffic:
Lexus navigation provides real-time traffic information, but it may not be as up-to-date as Google Maps, which is known for its very frequent updates.
"... download ... traffic information twice a month ..." and "... provides real-time traffic information ..." both cannot be factually true for the same navigation system.
What ever AI you asked has pretty serious problems with internally, logical and consistent, factual answers.
"... download ... traffic information twice a month ..." and "... provides real-time traffic information ..." both cannot be factually true for the same navigation system.

Bottom Line: My experience: Lexus Navigation had no clue of the temporary routes in my area that have been there for 3 weeks now.
The native nav in my '22, I'm pretty sure, is the same system as '19 except operable by a touchscreen. It's pretty responsive about real-time traffic in my native Chicago area, but becomes clueless when I roam outside of it into the sticks.
Can you use Android Auto in your 22 ?
So any reason that you're using the Lexus Nav instead of Android Auto or Apple Car Play ?
Yeah, although first I'd have to buy an Android phone. :.)
All smartassery aside, I do have the low-profile cable for CarPlay. I just haven't liked the experience of using Google Maps when I've tried it, and the queasy feeling of knowing I'm sharing my every move with one of the world's most predatory and invasive corporations (not that I'm under any illusions about the fact that Toyota also collects and sells my data). Just an aging luddite, I guess.

---- With that said the only reliable navigation for me (especially this summer) is google maps. I have the 2025 ES350-UL and the Lexus Navigation suggested routes are laughable. On a related note, since Google Maps and Waze are both owned by Google, do you see any differences in either the recommendations or their reliability between the two?

I like having a map on my screen, but I'm not shy about overruling the electronic Missus either. She can always recalculate, and I often force her to.
