Using oiled filters on these cars is a very stupid idea.
Thank you! So, no oiled filters I love this community, learn a lot.

Would you mind sharing part # for cabin filter you use for Bosch/Blueprint, please? It probably would be the same for my vehicle ES250, as i understand you don't have this model.

Why are you replacing cabin filter so often, are you driving in a very dusty environment?

He said 5000 miles and did not mention time. If you drove 100 miles in 12 months would you still change it?

It takes almost an year for me to drive it 5000 miles. The carbon air filters work 1 year.

Bummer I just had my 12 month Lexus courtesy visit at 4300 miles but they did not change the cabin filter.
I figured because the miles were so low but it is in the 12 month schedule so I think they were suppose to change it.

Yes, if it is a carbon activated filter. If paper then no need to replace it (if not dirty).

I just picked up 2 of these filters (Engine Part #17801-F0050 & Cabin Filter) from Local Lexus dealership (Parts).

There was a cheaper option for Cabin filter , Part # 87139-YZZ93 (From mu previous research part number is: 87139-0E040)

Not sure what the difference would be?

Checking here, appears it fits my 2021 ES250:

Thanks

Depends on whether you want charcoal or not in the filter trapping odors. Oem is usually just the non charcoal.

Lexus advised me that both part # are OE charcoal filter's.

After some re-search online, i found the difference actually, which makes sense.
This is from Reddit (might be useful for other Club Lexus members):

Going from best to cheapest:

87139-0E040 (charcoal filter and heaviest amount made in USA )

87139-58010 (charcoal filter medium heavy but made in Japan)

87139-YZZ93 (charcoal filter light, it has the least amount of charcoal but it’s also the cheapest charcoal filter available, made in USA)

87139-0R030 (pollen filter standard number of pleats, made in USA)

87139-YZZ83 (pollen filter, has about 1/3 less pleats than the 0R030, made in USA)

Any part # with a “YZZ” is considered the value line and what that basically means is, it’s Toyotas way of competing with aftermarket auto parts store ones. They tend to be cheaper and quality is good and fitment is spot on, sometimes there is a compromise on quality like less pleats on air filter’s but overall it’s still better than most what you’d find in the aftermarket parts stores.

FYI, in Lexus Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) L-SB-0003-20 HVAC Odor Maintenance part number 87139-58010, High Performance Charcoal Filter, is the HVAC (cabin) filter to use to help address ES HVAC odor problems.

so you're saying all of these cabin air filters are interchangeable?
