Kirk Kriefels is just over analysing pretty much over nothing. There is nothing anyone can say to change the outcome of the next generation ES. It will look like what Toyota showed us what it will look like.

The drive train will be the same as the new Camry.

There will likely be an PHEV option like with the domestic Toyota Crowns.

 

Also his comments about losing the Frankenstein ***** for drive mode and having to access that feature through the screen. WRONG. Yes you can access it through the screen but the touch sensitive toggle buttons on the steering wheel are customizable with one option to select drive mode. Works quite well.
