nav screen reboots while driving?
On a couple of drives, my nav screen will go back to the screen that comes up when you start the car, the disclaimer screen, where you have to click on "continue" then it goes back to the nav, with different settings.
Anyone ever have this issue? I was wondering if it's a known problem or just random on mine. Ref: 2020 ES350

How many times have you had it happen? It's happened to me maybe three times in 70k miles. So not enough to warrant concern.
Figured it was just a random glitch or a neutron that hit a computer chip just right

It has happened 3 times in the last 1000 miles or less.
Maybe I can find my flux compositor gun and clear out the free roaming neutrons.

Three times in 1000 miles seems like a lot.
Do you have anything plugged into the USB ports that might be backfeeding voltage into the system? I haven't had that scenario, but I wonder if that would cause it. Otherwise, I'm bewildered.
Yeah, either a rogue neutron or a gamma ray burst

I thought the infotainment did updates over-the-air. Are there firmware files you can update via USB somewhere on the Lexus website?

2019 through 2022 model year infotainment systems have firmware updates that can only be accomplished by downloading the update onto a USB 2.0 flash drive, inserting the flash drive into one of the two USB 2.0 data capable ports (i.e., the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capable USB ports) located at the front of the console, and then invoking the firmware update from a menu item on the infotainment system. (The navigation owner's manual claims there's a setting when set will automatically notify you when software updates are available but I've never seen where those notifications are given when a USB flash drive required firmware update is available. For those type of firmware updates, the only means of finding out if an update is available is to go to Lexus Software Updates fill in the "Select A Vehicle" pop down menu form with the vehicle you're checking on and you'll be informed if a firmware update is available. If one is available, the resulting web page will have links to saftware update instruction pdf and downloading the firmware update file(s) to put on the USB flash drive.
FYI, there is a firmware update available for a 2020 ES350 with Navigation. There are two Model ID firmware download choices. From the "VIEW FAQ" pop up dialog's "28. What is Model ID?" and from 2020 LEXUS ES300H, ES350 XXXXX NAVIGATION AND MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM OWNER'S MANUAL ( page 60 for THROUGH SEPT. 2019 PROD. and page 63 for FROM OCT. 2019 PROD. versions) the Model ID is found following the Setup (the gear icon) -> General -> Software Update menu item chain. IIRC, you'll see two Model IDs listed for navigation equipped vehicles and two entries in the current version listing.)
For 2023 and later model years, there are three ways of updating the multimedia system's software/firmware. All ways are initiated from vehicle's multimedia system. If an update is available, Settings (the gear icon) -> Software update -> Updates available -> Update software (won't be displayed if no update available) and -> Output info to USB memory (also won't be displayed if no update available) is the starting points for downloading and accomplishing the update. The first is for two means of over the air (OTA) updating - one means uses the vehicle's Data Communications Module's (DCM) cellular data network connection to download the update and the other uses a Wi-Fi connection of a selected nearby Wi-Fi network. The second is using some computer network connection as the main means of downloading the complete software update to a USB flash drive and updating the system using the software update from the flash drive. (For all the gory details, see the "Updating and checking the software information" section start on page 56 of the the 2023/2024 LEXUS ES250, ES300H, ES350 NAVIGATION AND MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL.)
f you don't want to attempt the update yourself for either model year category, you can also have a Lexus dealer's service department do the update for you. Some will do it free of charge if your vehicle's also in for some other servicing others will charge you for it (I have no idea what the cost might be).
It depends upon the model year.

Dealer said there was no update but when i used that link I found the updates, put on a usb and updated myself took a few minutes.
Any suggestions? Is there a hidden screen I can go to? Can a Toyota dealer do it? I am 2 hours away from a Lexus dealer.
If you can help, I will greatly appreciate it.
My nav maps can not be up to date, they are 4 years old, and lots of roads have been built or changed since then. (living in the expanding south.)
