Default 2024 touchscreen

I’m in a 2021 es350, which has no touchscreen. Thinking of buying a 2024 es350. Pictures of the touchscreen show a large white box, with apps, radio station or whatever inside. This is the “daytime mode”, I think. I prefer a black background with white text, like it is in the 2021. Is it possible to have a black background or is the white background unchangeable?

It's possible in my 2023 ES 300h following the procedure in this video. The video isn't for the 2024 ES, but it probably works the same in the 2024 ES.

I have not experimented a lot, and I have only had my car for a little while, but the screen will change in low light from a white background with nice bright easy to read screen to a black background with a nice dark easy to read screen for nighttime. I'm not sure but I think there is an option to have the night mode screen all the time (similar to the video in the post above).
Also, Apple Car Play now has several backgrounds to choose from, and I'm sure more will follow.
My previous Lexus was nine years old, and I love the new really big touch screen in the '24 ES UL. (Some configurations of the ES have a screen which is a few inches smaller, I think.)

I leave mine in dark mode 24/7, looks nicer and ties in with the dash better.

Same here. I didn't have a screen in my previous car and found the big bright screen distracting. It isn't bad in dark mode.
