Default Side mirrors disassembly...

I have a 2021 ES 350, I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to disassemble the side mirrors? Id like to paint that chrome strip but cant figure out how to get them apart. Thanks!

This is what I found in the lexusguide.net Lexus ES (XZ10) Service Manual. It looks like you'll have to remove the mirror glass, see Outer Rear View Mirror Glass - Removal, to gain access to the four screws holding the outer cover on. For the procedures to remove the outer mirror cover see Outer Rear View Mirror Cover - Removal. Note on that page there are separate procedures for (a) w/o Panoramic View Monitor System and (b) w/ Panoramic View Monitor System.

In looking over the outer cover installation instructions, I see there's a "7. PERFORM CALIBRATION (w/ Panoramic View Monitor System)" step.

So, if the ES you're working on has a Panoramic View Monitor system that has cameras on the underside of the outer rear view mirror covers, it would be a really good idea to figure out what the "PERFORM CALIBRATION" entails before disassembling things. (I dimly recall there's some sort of procedure to follow for aligning the outer rear view mirror cover cameras so their views stitch together with the front and rear camera views into a seamless 360 degree surrounding car view.)

Thanks for the heads up on the Panoramic View monitor system cameras. I dont have that feature. The mirrors came apart just as described in the links above. Trim is painted and waiting on the clear coat to dry at the moment.

I'd be interested to see pics of your finished work.

Follow up for future reference:

Found in the lexusguide.net Lexus ES (XZ10) Service Manual the calibration procedures for the Panoramic View Monitor System. While I can't readily see any differences between the hybrid and gasoline calibration procedures, for the calibration procedures for hybrids see Panoramic View Monitor System (for Hv Model) - Calibration and for gasoline models see Panoramic View Monitor System (for Gasoline Model) - Calibration.

While it looks like the Panoramic View Monitor System calibration software is self contained in the multimedia infotainment system's "Service" subsystem, the pre-calibration set up procedures look pretty tedious and not very short.

There's quite a bit of circumstances/conditions scenario tailoring of the calibration procedures (e.g., single front, rear, left hand, or right hand camera calibration scenarios) so one needs to closely read over the material on those web pages to avoid incomplete or unnecessary work.
