It seems like the extender is a popular feature and makes me wish it was an option on all trims. It's one of those things where if it didn't exist you might never think about it. But after experiencing it's pluses, you really want it! It's somewhat challenging to find a used Lux, but I'll see what pops up. I keep going back in my mind to the TLX seat comfort, but still think Lexus has an edge in quality and a classic 6-cylinder ICE.
I really like it. I'm only 5'10" but have long legs. I had the extenders on my '14 and '16 Avalon's. When they re-designed the Avalon in '19 they dropped the extender along with a number of other options. The center console was also hideous in the re-design. When that happened I looked at the ES and haven't looked back.

The TLX Type-S SH-AWD is a beast of a ICE V6/handling compared to the 350; and the seats are very confy. I almost bought that unit, but decided for the Lex because the larger rims on the TLX means a higher probability a bend/broken wheel (pot holes during rain). Also, no spare tire means towing service (I'm very lucky getting puncture tires). Lastly, MPG & premium fuel vs regular; and $4k more in price.
