Range Question
Does the trip computer range only reset when it’s refueled?
I do mostly suburb driving but today went on a 100 mile round trip highway drive.
I hit the reset on both the range and MPG screens and started highway driving at about 70 mph.
The previous suburb mpg was about 19 and the highway averaged about 30.
The range never increased when I switched to highway, it went from 150 and just dropped.
Can range be reset during driving? On my Infiniti M35 range changed based on driving conditions.

I always thought that range is fixed based on how much fuel is in the tank, and cannot be reset except by fueling ( noted on my 6th Gen, and also 7th Gen).
MPG, MPH average, you can reset at any time that you want.
Different question about range - with the new 2023 ES300h, I'm steadily getting 46 MPG which is amazing (in the 6th Gen, I tended to get about 35 MPG). The range on a full tank is well over 500 miles. That calculates out for me and then some: with conservative driving and getting 46 MPG, that would mean range of a full tank is 598 miles!!! Does anyone get worried that their gasoline will get stale sitting in the tank?
These days, with ability to do some work from home etc on some days, my driving is down. Looking up aging of gasoline, it says that gasoline can age by 3 months, and ethanol in the gas can age by 1 month. With such a huge range for 1 tank of gas, I'm wondering if my gas may age sitting there for so long! I am considering just re-fueling a half tank ( about 6 gallons) each time.....

On page 80 of the 2021 Lexus ES250/ES350 Owner's Manual (pdf version):
Per the above range is calculated based on the remaining fuel and the (cumulative) average fuel consumption. And the average fuel consumption is either from 1) last reset, 2) last start, or 3) last refueling.
• Average fuel economy
After reset: Displays average fuel consumption since the display was reset*1
After start: Displays average fuel consumption since engine start
After refuel: Displays average fuel consumption since refuel
...
• Distance
Driving range: Displays driving range with remaining fuel*2, 3
...
*1: To reset, display the desired item and press and hold “OK” of the meter control switches.
*2: This distance is computed based on your average fuel consumption. As a result, the actual distance that can be driven may differ from that displayed.
*3: When only a small amount of fuel is added to the tank, the display may not be updated.
