Default Change the Tire and Rim

Hi Friends,

My ES 350 2015 had a flat tire 2 times in 10 days. When inspected by the Costco mechanic they said both the Tire and the Rim needs to be changed.Would like to know if any one had similar issues with their ES.
Iam planning to go for new tire and Rim.
Please suggest how to proceed

Sounds like you hit a curb. You can try ebay or Craigslist to find a single wheel. You can also check with a national junk yard search to find one.
Otherwise you can hit the dealer and pay 3 times what it's worth.
Or look into a new aftermarket set and then sell your on ebay.

A new wheel form the dealer is about $500, plus whatever a tire costs. You can get a refurbished wheel online for around $200. Maybe less. I bought one and can’t remember the exact price. Maybe $175. Looked brand new. I used mine, with a tire, to replace the donut spare.

I would check with a real tire shop to see what the issue is. I would not trust a "Costco mechanic". If it is the rim, see if you can get it repaired. That would be much cheaper than buying a replacement.

I would recommend going to Discount tire if there is one near by and have them inspect the rim
Costco mechanic sounds really funny

Sorry for not being very helpful

i am replacing my 2014 ES350 with "new" 18" Lexus wheels & Ties & "new" tpms My mechanic says he may not be able to "relearn" the tpms & that I may have to go to Lexus for the programming. Any suggestions?

You mean these? Lexus made the switch for me. Not sure if required TPMS programming. Will see if it's in my service history.

Anytime you replace the TPMS, they have to be reprogrammed. I would check with Discount Tire or another reputable tire dealer before hitting the dealer. It would be much less expensive.
