Wiper Arm Hits the Hood on Downstroke
Merry Christmas all.
My wiper arm is hitting my hood while it comes back down during operation. The part that hits the hood is the spring-joint and it is only the passenger side wiper that hits. It is as if the wiper arm is riding too high at that joint. It makes a loud noise and is chipping the paint.
Any idea how to fix it? Thinking the arm was loose, I've already tried reinstalling the wiper arm.

see this thread
maybe it will help you
looks like the conclusion on that car is that someone improperly lifted the wiper arm at some point and bent/missaligned it
also there is winter mode on the wipers where you pull on the passenger arm up until it sort of clicks
this allows you to "raise" the wiper arms away from the windshield in the snow
