I don't know if they have them where you guys live, but for as long as I can remember, I've been buying my tires from Gateway Tire Service.. They have been great to us.

Seems like everyone thinks the only smooth and quiet riding tires out there are Michelins and Pirelli's. I'm fussy about bump absorption and quietness too, but have found Michelins a little to firm. I like Toyo's premium comfort tire - the Versado Noir. About $480 for four delivered from some reliable ebay sellers like the one below. Then I have them mounted and balanced by a local tire shop for $25 each.

The Versado Noir are good tires too, I had them on my GS.

I also had a set of the Toyo's on my Avalon. Very nice tire.. and at that price, that's a deal.

Very few Costco locations have road balancing equipment (not just weight balance but road force balancing, where a shoe rubs against the tire to simulate real driving conditions). If tires are not road balanced, they will undergo premature wear. The Costco I use has road force balancing capabilities and I never had any issues with them. Before using Costco or any other tire place, ask for road force balancing.

I’ve never heard that not road force balancing tires would accelerate wear. You just don’t get as smooth a ride.

A non-road force balanced tire will cause localized wear at first at the areas that have more road contact. It would be very difficult to catch the point where the entire circumference makes uniform contact on all 4 tires. Even after rotation, uniform wear would be difficult to achieve on a non road force balanced tire, leading to bald areas.

I have never heard of or experienced such a thing.

Of course I prefer road force balancing, but I don’t buy at all not doing it will cause more wear over traditional spin balancing done properly.

Just an FYI, I just had the 40,000 mile service on my 2013 ES300h, the Michelin tires have 4/32" of tread left all around. They are wearing very well.

Yes...this is an incredible deal on an amazing tire...$364 after rebates. I had the Cinturato P7s on my Lacrosse, and they were smooth, quiet, and great in the winter. Just yesterday I ordered a set for my ES since I have 18K on it now and I have never been able to get more than 25K out of the Michelins, and a set for my mom's Camry, since her Michelins have 27K on them and likely won't pass inspection in April.

They certainly do...you just don't get a warning, you have to read the pressure readout.

over pressure isn’t really an alert situation.
