Default 2013 ES300h Rep Car

Thanks to this forum, I am looking to purchase my first Lexus. I am looking at getting a 2013 ES 300h from a Lexus dealership. The carfax says the car was a corporate fleet vehicle. Without asking, the dealership voluntarily told me the car was a rep vehicle. They explained that the car was owned by Lexus and provided to either a Lexus employee or third party vendor for use. While in use and as a rep vehicle, Lexus fixes any issues at no cost to the owner.

The dealership is hyping up this car as being a rep vehicle because an owner of a rep vehicle can get anything fixed at no cost.

Does anybody familiar with Lexus rep cars? Should I be concerned?

Here is some other information.
The car has about 50,000 miles on it.
The car has a clean carfax with maintenance records every 5,000 miles.
At around 40,000 miles the tires were replaced and the car required an alignment.
As part of the CPO process the brake pads and rotors were replaced. The dealership did some touch ups to fix dings to the front bumper and there was some cosmetic damage to one wheel so all four wheels were refinished.

That may be right. I agree I think it is a little overpriced. The interesting thing is if I compare the value of a 2013 ES 350 with UL and 2013 ES 300h with UL, the ES 350 is valued at or a little higher than the ES 300h. Maybe this is because a 300h with UL is so rare.

With gas prices having remained at relatively low levels for the last several years, the demand for used hybrid vehicles has gone down, and, even though the original MSRP for an ES300h was about $3000 higher than that for a similarly equipped ES350, on the used market, the hybrids have been selling for lower prices than similarly equipped non-hybrids for the last few years.

The $27,000 asking price for the car that you are looking at is, indeed, at least a few thousand dollars high. And, while 50,000 miles is not excessive for a 2013 vehicle, is is still a bit high, and that mileage, alone, would reduce the value of the car by about $1000-1500 compared to the value of a similar 2013 with, say, 35,000-40,000 miles on the odometer.

Just thinking about it. This is a hybrid vehicle. The brake pads and rotors of a hybrid should last longer than a comparable non-hybrid... especially the rotors. Would the rotor replacement raise a red flag? Maybe I am reading too much into it.

145,000 miles and brakes are fine. Also have a 2013 Avalon Hybrid with 190,000 miles and no brake work done to that one either..

Now the Avalon did have alot of nagging nickle and dime issues when one dealer in particular used to service it. I stopped using them about 100,000 miles back and all those problems went away. They are called "Stealerships" for a reason, be careful who services your hybrid,.

And 2013 300H's often sell in the 15-18g. range. 27g should buy you a 2015 or newer, run from that deal.
