Noise from power steering
Anybody experience a noise coming from their power steering?
I am at 27000 miles now and I have started to hear a strange noise coming from my power steering. The noise comes from inside the center of the dash and coincides with the steering - like a non-uniform whining noise. I was going to check power steering oil levels but it is electronic.
I have not brought the car into the dealer yet but the problem is that the noise is intermittent and not that loud. I am afraid that I will wait there all day for them to tell me there is no problem.
I have noticed that my steering is heavier, and intermittently returns to the normal steering resistance.

Your car uses an electric motor to provide power steering and therefore no fluid. Sounds to me like there might be an issue with the motor - especially since the steering has become tighter or heavier.
