Default Play DVD?

Does my 2014 ES300H able to play DVD both video and audio? If so, how ?

My sales guy said only way video works is if you have the car running and it park. He admitted that was pretty well a usellss feature, so I never tried it. They don't want you watching DVD's while yu

Yup, but the motor may not need to be running. Think of it as something you can do while the wife is shopping. Bring a good video,recline the seat, and have it.

You can play a DVD movie in your car with the power on, running or not, but trans must be in park with the parking brake engaged.

Around here it's either too hot or too cold, so motor would have to be running for heat or AC depending on the season.

In any case, I barely watch a movie on 12 hour flights. Probably the last thing I will do is sit and watch a movie in my car.

Wife can go shopping by herself...doesn't like me tagging along anyway.(too impatient)

PAB 12 got it right. You can really only use it if you're waiting for someone in the car - for me it's always the boss who's in the mall shopping...

And the battery saver feature will shut it off every 15 minutes if the engine is not running..
