iPhone 7 holder

I have and RCF and my wife has a Camry, but I have found that simple is the key.. There are hundreds of options, and they can literally get into hundred of dollars.. but I have found that this mount: has been trouble free, inexpensive, and practical.
I will say this however, if you use a case on the phone you will need to go to the hardware store (or auto parts) and get some 3m double sided tape (like this: ) to make the metal disc stick to the case, it sticks will to the phone itself, but cases not so much.
I also routed the cable back to the console with these:
My wife preferred this one:
works well in her Camry, not so much in the RCF as there is limited space in my preferred location and the 7plus while fitting in the mount doesn't fit in that location due to the curve in the neck of that mount.. but works great on the Camry.

For longer trips, I use the car cup mount from Belkins.

I'm not a big fan of "suction cups" or vent clips because they seem very clumpsy....

I have the iPhone 6 Plus and it actually sits just fine on the upper cup-holder. I use this method for quick trips and it holds up pretty well. However, abrupt right turns will let the phone jump off the holder.

the RCF has hard plastic surround around the GPS SD chip spot that is perfect for adhesive, I've used 2 different mounts there and removal hasn't harmed the surface at all, all it takes is a bit of rubbing alcohol to remove the left over glue and you can't tell anything was ever there.
to each there own.

Thanks!
Thanks very much for the advice. I tried one CD slot device that doesn't work. Not enough clearance. The vent holders that I've tried and seen don't work because of clearance problems also. thought it worked great on my Camry. Cup holders would work, but I like to have a cup holder and so does my gal and there are only two in the front. Besides, I would prefer to not have to look down, I could just set it or restrain it (velcro, double sided tape) to the console but I really prefer not to have to change my vision from looking up and out. I'm not fond of the windshield-stick-to-the-glass kind either. Still looking ...
