How does one turn the A/C off and just have outside air with the fan on? I finally found out how to turn off the A/C (no Owner's Manual in the car) on the Nav screen. When I turn it off and turn the fan on for outside air, the A/C comes on. On my cars, there is an A/C button, outside air without A/C and with fan control is simple. What am I missing?

There is a workaround that you can use if you don't want to have to go into the menus and want to turn off the AC and want non-air conditioned air to be circulated through the cabin.
You can use the "auto off" button, which will completely turn the climate control system off, and, then, use the "fan" buttons to the right of the "auto" and "auto off" buttons to turn just the fan back on without turning the AC compressor back on. Using this workaround does mean having to press multiple buttons on the dash, but it does avoid having to go into the menus to turn the compressor off.

I should say I would prefer a completely manual climate controls to what Lexus implemented in 6th gen ES. I often does not behave the way I want and overriding it is a pain.
Even a single button to go directly to the climate control page would be a big improvement.

Ya, and the thing I'm noticed with auto settings in various cars is that the car will switch the blower from heat to A/C almost randomly and usually when it it supposed to be delivering warm air. I find that on certain cold days when the car reaches the set temperature the cabin temp sometimes exceeds it and the car will start blowing cool air out of the dash vents, right into my face.
I really hate when that happens...

Oddly enough, our 2016 NX has a manual A/C button so I don't have to get into the climate menu. The first year for the NX was 2015 so the production run is a couple of years newer than the sixth Gen ES. I wonder if this change is a result of complaints such as this?

Initially not having an AC on/off button bothered me, but a few months after purchasing my '14 ES 350, I grew to like the fully automatic temp control. Now I just jump in the car and go. I wish the seat heaters and steering wheel were automatic too.
