Default Cruise control 350es

When running under cruise control, to increase the speed setpoint I can briefly bump the accelerate lever and that works to increase speed 1 mph, but if I hold the accelrate lever to increase speed to get to a new higher setpoint the speed increase does not stop when I release the lever. The speed keeps increasing!!!!! Have turn off cruse control to stop the speed increase? Just got the car, am I doing something wrong?

My CC setting works as follows: If I set it and don't touch it, it stays at the set speed. If I tweak the "accelerate" quickly, I increase slightly. If I hold the "accelerate" lever the speed increases UNTIL I RELEASE IT. The speed then holds at the last speed arrived at while accelerating. It sounds like there is an issue with yours if it continues to accelerate after being released.

Legitimate question... have you tested to see how fast it'll speed up to? Within a safe area of course. Just curious lol.

Do you have adaptive cruise control? The regular system should work like bc6152 describes..

In my GS, the max is set to 109 MPH. I assume it's the same across the lineup.

To the OP, I believe the speed increases/decreases a certain increment when you hold the stalk up/down a few seconds. To move up/down at 1 MPH, you will need need to tap it up/down the number you want to go.

not sure when it would stop accelerating, I always turn it off when it gets over 80 mph
