Hi I am new to Lexus club and the whole Lexus community and have question if I should have bought their service plan to have the service everything til 75,000 miles for I think I paid 2500 dollars or is it better for me to pay myself.. also I just purchased the 2017 nightfall mica with the flaxen luxury package with the navigation and heated steering wheel..

Yes, I would cancel the $2500. - $3000. maintenance plan. Take that money and put it in the bank where you can access it if needed later. You just bought a very reliable car and these
"service plans" or "maintenance plans" are simply ways for the dealer to make an exorbitant profit on the deal. Not necessary IMO and a waste of money.

IIRC, the maintenance plan is to pay for all future scheduled maintenance up to 100k miles, not including brake jobs or tire replacements..
I don't think it's a good investment as the new ES OCI is every 10k miles, cabin and air filters are cheap, brake fluid flush and spark plug change as a DIY or an indy shop. Tire rotation is not that expensive. Just go to any tire shops. Visual inspections you can do yourself or have your indy shop do the inspections. Now if this includes brake jobs and tire replacement then yes go for it.

Yeah, I would think you got a good deal.. I bought my 2013 es in January of 2014.... 2014's were already on the lot and my es was the only "new" 2013 they had left so I felt that they were ready to get that car off their lot. I ended up getting 6 grand off the msrp... you got 6800 off, so yes, I think you did fine... by the way I ran into the saleslady that sold me the car in the grocery store not too long ago ( she no longer works for Lexus ) and she told me that in her time with Lexus, my 6K discount was the largest discount on any deal she was involved with.. so that's another reason to think you got a good deal..... as far as maintenance contracts... I didn't buy one... as someone else said, these are pretty reliable vehicles plus you've got the manufactures warranty for 4 years or 50K miles... enjoy your new ride...

You received a very good discount on the overall deal but if you can, cancel the maintenance plan - you don't need it. In some locations, servicing can be accomplished by a Toyota dealer at a much better price. Also, you might be able to locate a reputable independent service shop to do the servicing at a decent price. For instance, if I provide the oil/filter, my shop, who specializes in Japanese vehicles, charges 10 bucks to do the oil change - well worth it. Costs me less than $50 for synthetic oil change - the local Lexus dealer charges about $225 and I'm not sure what oil they use.

The maintenance plan is of course up to you as well as where you have it serviced. However I would check rates rather than rely on other experience, but I would definitely check. I have seen a ton of posts on Toyota vs Lexus for maintenance. For oil change,. rotation and inspection my local Toyota and Lexus dealers are 5 dollars apart. (both under 100 bucks). So my thought is the rates vary per region per dealer.

Just be sure, if you can, to confirm what oil they are using. Some dealers have a practice of providing generic bulk oil for their service, possibly synthetic, possibly not - but how do you confirm short of standing right there when they put it in. If the dealer uses Toyota Genuine Motor Oil (TGMO), that's great because it is an excellent quality oil but I've read that more often than not, bulk oil is used to, yes, save bucks. If you have a great relationship with a dealer you can trust, that's a boost for your service needs. Now that Lexus and some other manufacturers are recommending 10k OCIs, it is very important to use a quality full synthetic for your oil change needs.
